Many ask us this question: What is a Natural Wine? How does it differ from the others?
Natural wines are wines that require almost no invasive intervention by man except for good cultivation and production practices. Natural winemakers religiously follow the practices envisaged by organic and biodynamic agriculture, but in an even more limited and scrupulous way.
The wines that can be defined as natural do not require any chemical intervention in the vineyard.
Selected yeasts are therefore banned, but the only microorganisms responsible for fermentation are yeasts and bacteria already naturally present on the grapes during harvesting, the so-called “indigenous yeasts”.
So why buy a Natural Wine? We at Enoteca Bernetti have always been spokespersons for this method of winemaking and we support these courageous producers who put the territory and environmental well-being first. The defense of biodiversity is the basis of their hard work, without neglecting that these wines can be defined definitely healthier!
